The delivered PeopleTools 8.59 home page has a notification panel on the right. This is great if your organization wants a large notification panel on their home page.
… But how do you remove it if they don’t want it?

It’s the PeopleSoft Student Administration application group that has come to our Rescue with “How to Change PeopleTools 8.59 Default Settings for Notifications Panel and Menu Navigation Order” (Doc ID 2796719.1)
PeopleTools Personalizations
Navigate to PeopleTools Define System Personalizations page:
- PeopleTools
- Personalization
- Define System Personalizations
Click on the “Format” tab and scroll down to “HPNOTIFYPNL” user option.
Set the Default to “No” and Save.
Your home page should no longer show the Notifications Panel
Turn on the Notifications Panel as a User Personalization
Any individual can turn the notifications panel back on for their homepage.
- From the home page choose “Personalize Homepage” from the option button
- At the top of the page, select “Yes” on the “Show Notifications Panel” check box
- Save
The Notifications panel should now appear on THAT user’s home page.
