Time to get your PeopleTools Geek on and update your home labs to the latest PeopleTools versions so we can have knowledgeable, experienced conversations with our clients about the advantages of this new PeopleTools Release.
Oracle released HCM PUM 53 on Friday, October 17.
For most of us, this is the first PUM with PeopleTools 8.62. As a side note, Campus Solutions (CS) did ship with PeopleTools 8.62 on Septeber 23 if you really wanted to get a look at the new tools.
Additionally, the OCI PeopleSoft Marketplace HCM image is PUM 52 with PeopleTools 8.62 also.
Peopletools 8.62 is an exciting release because it’s primary focus is on user productivity. Most users’s eyes gloss over when we discuss the need for a PeopleTools upgrade. But this upgrade focuses on tools for them to more efficiently get their job done in a contemporary UI.
Maybe it’s time to revaluate an implementation of third party software utilities that “Stylize” PeopleSoft pages into a “nicer” UI.

I’ve just installed HCM PUM 53 as a VirtualBox implementation in my Home Lab. Just a note, the PUM installed fine on an Intel Gen-9 system but failed on an Intel Gen-7 system due to Python library issues. Not sure about that one, but it’s on the back list to explore once I have time.
