PeopleSoft Released the “Planned Features and Enhancements” today.  These are things we might (probably) will see in the next 12-18 months.

For the developers, this is a good idea of what PeopleSoft is planning to add to the next tools release (8.63).  As of the writing of this post, current PeopleTools release is 8.62.

There are some eye-opening additions that show Oracle is continuing to invest in PeopleTools.  This list is not inclusive, but just some of items that caught my attention.

More AI Integration:

  • MCP support to connect PeopleSoft APIs to AI agent interactions
  • Natural Language Search Service
  • Improved search based on meaning and context that is typo tolerant

Insights Improvements

  • Enhanced link support in Insights Visualizations
  • Dynamic integration of Insights Dashboards embedded in pages – keep the page and dashboard in sync (I’m really exited about this one!)
  • Dynamically choose which Insights dashboard to include in a page (Whoa!)

Developer Enhancements

  • App Designer Code Assist – Connect App Designer with an LLM
  • Updated design and security options for the Landing Pages
  • PSQuery – control access to specific queries by roles, permissions or users.

There is a lot more in the document than these few items.

Of course, there is also detail on all the proposed enhancements for HCM, Financials and Campus Solutions in this article also. I’m still learning to leverage a lot of the 8.62 improvements.    I can’t wait until we see how these new additions are going to help us deliver better experiences for our users.
