Should you update your personal R&D/ Test environment?
I am going to update my personal PUM to HCM 37. Reviewing the fixes since the last HCM PUM, there seems to me mostly stability and operability fixes in 8.58.07 and 8.58.08.
The updates to the App Designer and PeopleCode editor will make life a little more comfortable coding. If you are a developer working with PeopleCode, this PUM is a “Must Have“
*Note: I’m pleasantly surprised by the PeopleCode editor improvements in 8.58.08. After installing and testing the PUM 37 PeopleCode editor (8.58.08), several “Nice to have” behaviors that I had become accustomed in tools versions prior to 8.58 returned. These include:
- Highlighting variables by double-clicking and dragging (the “&” is also highlighted)
- Dragging fields into the code from the objects window appear in Recorname.Fieldname format instead of RECORD.Recordname.FIELD.Fieldname format.
- Dragging a CI into the PeopleCode editor creates a code template for that CI
- …I’m sure there may be more that I just haven’t yet found
