Your team needs common, concise terms when designing Insights Dashboards. Calling everything a “widget” creates misunderstandings and slows progress.
This post is a dictionary and reference of proper terms when working with PeopleSoft Insights Dashboards
I’m creating a series of short posts on PeopleSoft Insights.
It would be nice to know where we’re going, how to get there, and we need some common language.
I’ve encountered two issues with dates in PeopleSoft Insights Dashboards:
• Null dates in data tables
• Displaying the correct date rather than the UTC date
We’re going to discuss work arounds for these two issues using scripted fields.
Insight Data Table real estate can be a problem. Too many columns and they get pushed together with data and labels truncated and offset.
And it crashes.
The users always want more, but it’s not pretty.
But we do have a solution: put a PSQuery link in the data grid that is big as they want and will show whatever data you choose
Use a PeopleSoft Fluid Navigation Collection to organize multiple Insights Dashboards
Beginning with PeopleTools 8.61, we can embed Insights dashboards in Fluid pages. Meet the users where they are in their workflow and provide an Insights dashboard on the page next to their data.
