I’ve encountered two issues with dates in PeopleSoft Insights Dashboards:
• Null dates in data tables
• Displaying the correct date rather than the UTC date
We’re going to discuss work arounds for these two issues using scripted fields.
Insight Data Table real estate can be a problem. Too many columns and they get pushed together with data and labels truncated and offset.
And it crashes.
The users always want more, but it’s not pretty.
But we do have a solution: put a PSQuery link in the data grid that is big as they want and will show whatever data you choose
Use a PeopleSoft Fluid Navigation Collection to organize multiple Insights Dashboards

… Then invest in your Functionals.
(another bloviating opinion piece)
Beginning with PeopleTools 8.61, we can embed Insights dashboards in Fluid pages. Meet the users where they are in their workflow and provide an Insights dashboard on the page next to their data.
Add Scripted Fields to Insights Index Patterns to manipulate data to create more meaningful visualizations for our users.
The Insights default number format can clutter charts with excessive precision.
What if you want just to show one, or maybe no decimals in your chart?
Deleting and recreating your Insights Index Patterns removes all formatting and formulas. There also is a good chance to break all your visualizations using that Index Pattern.
Instead, refresh your Insights Index Patterns
Every Insights dataset from PeopleSoft has a Drilling URL.
Use that URL in your Insights Dashboards to link the user back to PeopleSoft pages.
Insights (Kibana) Dashboards provide valuable information to your users … but it only works if ALL the data you think you are sending to Insights has actually arrived …and has been indexed.
